Petros Tsonis

Petros Tsonis is a distinguished technology executive, recognized among the Top 50 CIOs in Greece, with a proven track record of orchestrating large-scale enterprise transformations. As the Chief Technology Officer and Executive Committee member at Ethniki Insurance, he holds end-to-end accountability for the organization’s technology ecosystem, including Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity.

Currently, Petros is at the helm of a massive, multi-year modernization program designed to transition Greece's leading insurance organization from legacy operating models to an AI-enabled, platform-driven architecture. His strategic mandate encompasses Core Systems Modernization, Cloud Transformation, Enterprise Observability, and rigorous AI Governance—ensuring absolute alignment with complex regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act, DORA, and the supervisory standards of the Bank of Greece.

Prior to Ethniki Insurance, Petros held senior technology leadership roles at global powerhouses including IBM and Allianz. Throughout his career, he has successfully delivered complex IT transformations across the financial services and insurance (FSI) sectors, leading large, cross-functional teams in highly demanding, multinational environments.

Holding an MSc in Advanced Information Systems from the University of Glasgow and a BSc in Computer Science from Brunel University London, Petros champions an architecture-led approach to innovation. At the Agentic AI Conference, he provides the ultimate enterprise blueprint for securely integrating Generative, Agentic, and Hybrid AI directly into the operational backbone of traditional FSI organizations.
